UPDATE 27.7.2019: Unfortunately we had to postpone the ride today - there were weather warnings for rain, it was lashing it down (as one would expect when there’s a weather warning for rain!), and we’re all fair-weather riders! Old Nick ‘pre-loaded’ 8km in the weather but it was just too nasty to take on the remainder to Ramsgate, so the ride be re-arranged shortly with the hope of slightly more clement weather.

Keen readers of CHAC news will recall that a little while ago TeamCHAC participated in the KM charity 50km bike ride, but that CHAC trustee ‘Old’ Nick Jackson was struck down with a mystery illness and couldn’t take part. Well, feeling a strong sense of obligation (or thirst?) and not wanting to fleece sponsors, he plans to ride 50km on Saturday 27 July - taking the brave decision to cycle through Whitstable during the Oyster Festival and through Tankerton at peak Park Run. But once through that he will (again!) be cycling on to Ramsgate Wetherspoons. Nick will be joined by CHAC trustees ‘Young’ Nick (not exactly a paragon of fitness) and Viv Gambling as well as Rachael Massingham, Richard Miller (and others to confirm).
Sponsor TeamCHAC and help us break the £1,000 at https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/Team/TeamCHAC2019
Back in April TeamCHAC raised £865 (before Gift Aid) - we’re hoping to reach a new overall target of £1,000. If you haven’t yet sponsored Nick or TeamCHAC for the KM bike ride, or if you’d like to ‘top up’ your previous sponsorship, you can do so here (for Nick) and here (for TeamCHAC). (And ‘Young’ Nick is considering opening a book on Old Nick coming down with a further mystery illness…cash only!)
